The ER cross-country team competed in the NCHSAA State Championships on Saturday in Kernersville!

ER had one male qualify for the race. Brody ran a time of 19:05, finishing in 121st place in the field of 164 of the top runners in the state. Congratulations to Brody on an awesome season!

The ER girls team was the first team in school history to qualify for the State Championship. The Wildcats ran an amazing race from top to bottom, finishing  13th in the state in 2A out of 19 teams who qualified from across the state. The Wildcats were led by Emma, who placed 23rd out of 153 runners with a time of 20:27. Brecken finished 52nd in 21:24, Ellen placed 67th with a time of 21:47, Dorothy finished 140th in 24:45, and Lanie placed 149th in 26:23. Ellen and Dorothy both ran season-best times Saturday!

Special mention goes to Madison, who by her actions, quick thinking, and character demonstrated the concept of "team before self" Saturday. Over the course of the season, Madison improved her race time by 14 minutes thanks to her hard work and commitment. The team's success Saturday and this season was due in no small part to her attitude and effort every day!
