JROTC Food Drive
|
The Eastern Randolph High School Army JROTC collected food to distribute to local families who need help, in Ramseur. Retired Lt. Colonel Mike Williams, JROTC instructor, leads the group of cadets. For the past four years the cadets have collected food to feed families. Contributors of food for the ROTC service project include Malt-O-Meal and Kilby Farms, additionally, the Cadets seek donations from individuals and other sources.
While some see JROTC as a preparation for the military, Williams said that only 10-15 percent of the cadets go into a branch of the Armed Services. The mission of JROTC is to “impact the morals of young people and to motivate them to be good citizens.”
