ERHS Fall FAFSA Night - October 19
Posted On:
Thursday, October 12, 2017

Fall FAFSA Night is Oct. 19, 5-7 pm in the ERHS Media Center.

Completing the  FAFSA is the first step students MUST take to receive financial aid for college.

It became available October 1 at FAFSA.gov, and the sooner you do it, the more aid $ your student has the opportunity to receive!

Needed Materials:

?     Student’s permanent email address

?     Parent’s permanent email address*

?     Student’s social security number (or your alien registration number, if you have one)**

?     Parent’s social security number (or alien registration number), and date of birth

?     Student’s driver’s license number, if applicable

?     Student’s federal income tax returns (if the student filed taxes in 2016), W-2s, and other records of money the student earned in 2016

?     Parent’s 2016 federal income tax returns, W-2s, and other records of money earned in 2016

?     Records of the household’s untaxed income, if applicable (i.e., child support or veteran’s benefits--need to be able to report how much was received in 2016)

?     Records of household investments and/or assets, if applicable

?     The month and year of the parent’s marriage or divorce

*Parent refers to a biological parent or someone who has legally adopted the student. If the student does not live with someone who fulfills these criteria, they ARE still eligible to complete the FAFSA and should do so!

**If a student, or their parent, is undocumented or under-documented (a recipient of DACA), they also can still complete the FAFSA, we will just go about it a bit differently. Do not skip the FAFSA because you aren’t sure how to complete it!

Ask Ms. Blalock (cmblaloc@live.unc.edu) or your school counselor if you have questions about either of these stipulations. We are here to help!

Bring these materials on Oct. 19, and let’s secure financial aid for college! :)
